The Beall Center produces an annual Internship in the Arts (Art 197) in collaboration with the Department of Art. This course is for UC Irvine undergraduate students, and is a great opportunity to earn both resume experience and course credits at the same time.

Art 197 interns will be trained to lead STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) lessons and projects for an after-school K-12 program in Santa Ana. Projects will include elements of coding, creative electronics, drawing, 3D printing, animation, design, art theory, building, biology, wellness, and more! All training is provided, and interns will earn 2 course credits per quarter of the internship. This internship is NOT restricted to arts majors, and applicants do NOT have to have previous experience in all STEAM fields to qualify. If you enjoy working with children, and have an interest in interdisciplinary or STEAM fields, this will help foster the leadership skills needed for most innovative career paths.

To interview and obtain a course registration code, e-mail a current resume to! Seats in the internship course are limited!

Fall 2017 Quarter Course Times: Mondays, 2-2:50pm, Wednesdays & Fridays, 3-5pm.
